The Wildcats hung on for a well-deserved 3-2 victory.  Behind the always steady Derek Manzella, who made crucial saves in the waning moments, the Wildcats edged out Cloquet on a cold night in northern Minnesota.

After giving up a very early goal to trail 1-0, and seemingly on their heels for the first 10 minutes killing penalty after penalty, the Wildcats settled down even the score 1-1 after one period, thanks to a goal by Alex Lachenmayer.

The second period was all Wildcats who played their typical tough and gritty game, and after two periods found themselves ahead 3-1 with goals by Tony Asta and Max Meekin.

The third period was back-and-forth until late in the game when Cloquet pulled its goalie.  The Wildcats faced enormous pressure in the last two minutes with Manzella coming up with some unbelievable saves.

Assists on the goals went to Henry Reiff (2), Cole Gibson, Alex Lachenmayer and Aiden Byrne.

With this victory, the Wildcats continue building momentum heading into the much anticipated battle in Rosemount on Saturday night.  Hope to see you there.
