Senior forward Cole Peplinski put the Cats on the boards first about half-way into the first period on an assist from his line-mate sophomore Cole Gibson. But Apple Valley would answer less than a minute later to make it 1-1 at the end of the first tri.
At about three minutes into the second, Keegan Johnson put in a power play goal assist by William Randall. The Eagles would tie it back up eight minutes later when Will Wright put in his second goal of the game. The period would end at a 2-2 tie.
The Cats pulled ahead in the third period on goals from Henry Reiff (Assists Peplinski, Johnson), Nick Sherek power play (assists Johnson, Randall) and an empty netter by Jonny Meiers on an assist from Johnson. The Captain would end up with three assists for the game and one goal to keep him on top of the SCC for assists and total points.
Eagan outshot the Eagles 41 to 27. Senior netminder Brandon Toussaint with 25 saves for the Cats.
