The weather was hot outside as the thermometer tipped 93 degrees and the action was hotter inside! Sixteen teams from around the metro participated in the 2017 Summer Meltdown at the Eagan Civic Arena July 14-16. The teams included: Eagan (2), Andover (2), Eastview, Owatonna, Prior Lake, Apple Valley, Burnsville (2), So. St. Paul, Rochester Lourdes, Shakopee, New Prague, Rosemount and St. Francis.

On Saturday, parents, coaches and fans benefited from an all-day Beer Garden and burgers and brats station to keep them busy, hydrated and fed between games. Keeping with tradition, the players were treated to a spaghetti feed. 

The championship match came down to Eagan Team 2 versus Andover Team 1. Andover pulled out a 3-2 victory in a back and forth battle. Thanks to all who helped make this year’s Meltdown a smashing success!
